Line Breaking
Detect which attackers are positioned to receive passes that break through defensive lines.
The Line Breaking lens identifies attacking players who are positioned between or behind the defensive lines and highlights them as viable targets for line-breaking passes. Arrows show the direction of potential line-breaking runs.
Activating the lens
- Open the Lenses panel in the sidebar.
- Click the Line Breaking tile.
- Players who can receive a line-breaking pass are highlighted with an arrow indicating the run direction.
How it works
The lens detects horizontal defensive lines — typically the defensive block's mid and back lines — and checks whether any attacker is positioned within or behind them relative to the ball. A player is flagged as a line-breaker if they are:
- Behind at least one defensive line, AND
- Not in an offside position.
Tips
- Combine with the Offside Line lens to confirm that flagged attackers are onside.
- Use with Ball Lock to ensure the system knows the ball's current position.
- Pause on a specific phase to inspect a static snapshot before presenting to your team.
