Bench & Substitutions

The Bench panel holds players who are not in the starting eleven. Drag a bench player onto the pitch to substitute them in; the replaced player moves to the bench automatically.

Opening the bench panel

1. Click the Bench button in the formation toolbar, or right-click anywhere on the canvas and choose Bench.
2. The bench panel slides in from the right, showing available substitute players.

Making a substitution

1. In the Bench panel, locate the player you want to bring on.
2. Drag them onto the pitch and drop them on the player you want to replace.
3. The dropped-on player moves to the bench; the dragged player takes their position.
4. The substitution is recorded in the sub ledger at the bottom of the bench panel.

Sub ledger

The sub ledger lists all substitutions made in the current play in order. Each entry shows:

• The player coming on and the player going off.
• The phase in which the substitution occurred.

You can export the sub ledger as a PDF via the Export → Sub Ledger PDF option.

Tips

• Substitutions are undoable with Ctrl+Z / Cmd+Z.
• Bench players can be reordered by dragging them within the panel.
• Assign real names to bench slots in Squad Builder.
